2. Albert Edwin Condon (November 16, – August 4, ), better known as Eddie Condon, was a jazz banjoist, guitarist, and bandleader. A leading figure in the so-called "Chicago school" of early Dixieland, he also played piano and sang on occasion. Condon was born in Goodland, Indiana, the son of John and Margaret (née McGraw) Condon. He grew up in Momence, Illinois and Chicago Heights.

In some ways this is just another Eddie Condon album, but when I want to hear good Dixieland with an all-star cast ("Wild" Bill Davison, cornet; Billy Buterfield, trumpet; Bob "Cutty" Cutshall, trombone; George Wettling, drums), this is the sort of CD I'll reach for even though the two best players who'd ever worked for Condon and were still /5(9).

7. Albert Edwin Condon, 16 November , Goodland, Indiana, USA, d. 4 July , New York City, USA. After working in local bands, guitarist and banjoist Condon moved to Chicago in the early 20s. He quickly associated himself with the very finest young white musicians based there: Bix Beiderbecke, Frank Teschemacher, Jimmy McPartland, Bud Freeman.
